Tree Planting

Pupils plant trees on school Field

The Schools Eco group have been planting trees on the school grounds. The trees were donated by the Woodland trust, and were a range of British native deciduous trees. The aim of putting them in was to encourage biodiversity and to help absorb CO2 as they grow.

It took 2 hours to get the 60 trees in, they were given some compost, rabbit guards and weed guards to give them the best chance of survival.

"I love planting trees, it was a great morning, it was a chance to improve the school site" said Caitlin McGee. "My favourite bit was digging the holes" said Grace Cook. "I loved the process of socialising while planting the trees, and I was pleased with the end result" said Euan Donaldson
